Statement of Spokesman of the Ministry of National Defense

The Spokesman of the Ministry of National Defense wishes to update on the situation at the frontline as follows:

- Please be reminded that, on 25 April 2011 at 13:45 pm, Thailand used military aircrafts to threaten Cambodia, and at 13:55 pm Thai soldiers shelled six 155 mm artilleries into Kok Mon area, situated as deep as 22 kilometers inside Cambodian territory.

- Also on the same day from 18:05 to 21:05 pm, the Thai military opened fire on Cambodian soldiers stationing at the area of Temple of Ta Krabey and then pounded both the Temples of Ta Moan and Ta Krabey. And from 21:05 pm until the early morning of 26 April 2011, Thailand flew military aircrafts for shooting flares and surveillance over Cambodian territory.

- One Cambodian soldier died and one police officer injured on 25 April 2011.

Faithful to the political line of the Royal Government Cambodia headed by Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo HUN SEN, the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces are standing firm to carry out their duties to defend the Cambodian territory, De Jure and the Facto, and to protect the territorial sovereignty, without any intention to occupy or claim any part of Thai military position or territory.

Despite the territorial ambition on the part of the invading Thai military to capture the Temple of Ta Moan, the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces have persistently and bravely fought back in their rights to self-defense of their territorial sovereignty. The Cambodian armed forces are in firm and full control of the Temple of Ta Moan and the Temple of Ta Krabey, and other areas in Cambodian territory in accordance with the international law and internationally recognized map.
